The appendices for the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects are intended to accompany the Kentucky Core Academic Standards and provide supplementary readings and material to support the implementation of the standards.
Appendix A provides information about text complexity, research and supplementary material on reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language as well as a glossary of key terms.
Appendix B contains text exemplars illustrating the complexity, quality, and range of reading appropriate for various grade levels with accompanying sample performance tasks.
Appendix C contains annotated samples demonstrating at least adequate performance in student writing at various levels.
