Have you ever wished you could take a picture of something on your computer screen?  Maybe a quirky error message pops up and you want to be able to show someone else.  Well here is how to take a quick “screen shot” and some options for what to do once you have it:

By simply pressing Ctrl and Print Screen/SysRq together you can take a snapshot of the screen.

Note – You will not get a pop up or confirmation that the screenshot has been taken.

Now that you have taken a snapshot here are 2 things you can do with that picture:

Email – Once you have the screenshot you can paste this image in an email by opening a blank message and pressing CTRL and the letter V at the same time.  This is very handy when you need to relay some information like a long error message to technical support personnel.

Save It – If you would like to keep a copy of the picture for yourself simply open Microsoft Paint and paste (CTRL and the letter V) the image onto the canvas.  From there you can save or edit the picture as needed.

You can practice this by sending an email to yourself with a screenshot included.  Also, you can paste a screenshot onto a blank Word document to see how it works.
