School Finance

School Finance provides support regarding funding, budgeting, accounting, reporting and statewide on-site administrative assistance.  In addition, school finance supports local district employee benefit programs, i.e., health and life insurance and flexible spending accounts; and provides oversight regarding attendance reporting, bonding, leasing and other finance related issues.

Field Staff
Student Tracking Field Staff provide services to local district personnel with a focus on Pupil Personnel Directors.  Field services include attendance reviews and calendar approvals for school districts.Field staff also assist the Division of District Support with tracking student data using the Kentucky Student Information System (KSIS).


 

SEEK Transportation Funding
The Support Education Excellence in Kentucky (SEEK) funding formula includes funds for pupil transportation to and from school. The annual tentative transportation calculation uses prior year district transportation costs and pupil density figures to determine average costs for districts of similar pupil density.   Financial Information
Financial information is used to ensure the accurate calculation and allocation of various funds to school districts. This information is used to ensure compliance of school district levies, tax rates and the certification process for local school districts.


  Health Insurance
 Information for Local Board of Education Employees   The Department of Employee Insurance (DEI) is responsible for administering health insurance benefits and flexible spending accounts to local board of education employees.
